Rural communities face unique challenges when outdated or inefficient infrastructure must be constructed. Adequate roadways and utilities are essential to the life of a community and its citizens and, therefore, requires immediate action. The quality of life and the sustainability of a community rests with safe roads, utilities, recreation, and civic centers. Since 1989, Melvin Engineering has assisted communities throughout the Florida Panhandle in identifying projects that are eligible for federal, state, and/or local funding. Once identified, preparation and submittal of an application follows and, ultimately funding is granted and the project must then be administered to conform to strict guidelines. The process is one that requires great expertise in local knowledge as well as bureaucratic compliance. Millions of dollars have been gained through grants for our local clients. And the count is still going up!
