Family Dollar Distribution Center

After an extensive search, Family Dollar Stores, a multi-billion dollar retail business, decided to locate Distribution Center #9 in Marianna, Jackson County, Florida. Serving Family Dollar retail stores in the Southeastern United States, the center is located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and SR 276 and is situated on a 75-acre site in the newly developed Distribution/Construction Services Park. Jackson Hospital Urgent Care Facility

Melvin Engineering provided stormwater and roadway design, water and sewer extension, natural gas extension, signalization improvements, Florida Department of Transportation permitting, Florida Department of Environmental Protection permitting, and Northwest Florida Water Management District permitting for the state-of-the-art Jackson Hospital Urgent Care Facility. Grant administration and compliance services were provided by the Resident Compliance Specialist at DHM. Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Community Development Block Grant Economic Development program funded amount: $553,042.

Green Circle BioEnergy (Enviva, Inc.) Pellet Plant Facility

The project consisted of the construction of the world’s largest wood pellet production facility, Green Circle BioEnergy, now Enviva, on a 256-acre site. Melvin Engineering served as the lead design firm and overall project manager. DHM provided: Civil and Site Design, Structural Design, Large scale multifaceted project on expedited timeline, intricate project management, complex structural and building designs, water/wastewater systems, extensive electrical and control systems, environmental—wetlands permitting, and construction engineering inspection. City of Marianna Construction of Catalyst Solar Project

Melvin Engineering serving as the engineer for the City of Marianna, providing design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration and inspection services for this photovoltaic solar facility, as provided in the City’s Community Development Block Grant application and grant award. Construction of a solar facility, on land owned by the City of Marianna at the Marianna Airport Commerce Park, west of Catalyst Fabric Solutions. The facility will provide solar generated electricity to Catalyst Fabric Solutions through a net metering agreement with Florida Public Utilities.
