Civil Engineer
The DHM Melvin Engineering team is growing! We are looking for a strong candidate who is self-motivated and seeking a challenge. This opportunity is a Civil Engineer position with EI or PE, PE preferred, in our Marianna, Florida office. We offer a flexible, family-oriented work environment, a culture of teamwork and respect, and the ability to grow and contribute to the company’s success. Responsibilities:
Perform engineering design and conceptual planning professional work under the supervision of a Project Manager
Assist the project manager with various tasks related to design and drawings/specifications preparation
Preparation of preliminary engineering reports and feasibility studies including evaluating design alternatives, provide design recommendations for municipal infrastructure projects such as water distribution systems, water, wastewater collection systems, roadway design, and drainage/storm water engineering
Perform site visits, review reports, maps, as-built drawings, and any supporting documents to aid in the preparation of construction drawings
Preparation of design drawings under the direction of project engineer and senior designer
Preparation of project specifications
Perform quantity takeoffs to aid in the preparation of cost estimates
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited University.

Knowledge or coursework related to roadway design, utilities design, drainage design, water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.

Basic understanding of surveying work

Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS software preferable

2-5 years of experience in the engineering field

Licensed Professional Engineer preferred, but Engineer Interns can apply and will be considered
